- Description
We are currently seeking an experienced and professional Trainer/Assessor to manage the Heavy Mobile Equipment training and competency within the Rail, Port, Quarrying and Construction Industries, specific to Material Handlers, Wheeled Loaders, ADTs, Bulldozers, Excavators, Graders, Rollers and Soil Compactor competencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our HSEQT compliance and implementing and managing the training and competency assessments, including risk management and safety performance monitoring.
They will assist the HSEQT Manager to ensure effective implementation of corporate standards and industry codes of practice, strategies and policies significant to the safe use, operation, and maintenance of plant, equipment and vehicles.
Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability
- Ensure effective systems are in place to manage plant and artisans competencies.
- Co-ordinate training and re-certification of artisans and plant operators.
- Monitor and maintain the staff competency data base.
- Develop training assessment programmes and documentation.
- Assist with technical, safety and incident investigations.
- Analyses, forecast, plan and monitor the competency management system.
- Attend meetings as business requirements
- Deputise for the HSEQT Manager as required
- Lead and participate in business and HSEQT meetings as required.
- Ensure compliance with all company standards and procedures
Person Specification
- Must be widely experienced in rail, port, quarry and construction, with an excellent knowledge of plant and equipment operation and maintenance activities.
- Comprehensive knowledge relevant industry safety standards relating to plant and equipment including operational safety, and Health & Safety legislation.
- Trainer, Assessor Qualifications.
- Must be willing to undertake further training as the post requires.
- Communication skills and organisational ability.
- Proficient user of technology with experience in administration organisation.
- Holder of a UK driving licence.
