A lovely client of ours based on the outskirts of Harlow are looking for an Accounts Apprentice to join their friendly Accounts Department.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and ambitious individual who has a genuine interest in a career within finance. Our client can offer you hands-on experience whilst you study towards your AAT qualifications. You will shadow and assist the entire accounts function whilst gaining invaluable experience.
You will work Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30am – 5:30pm. As you will be studying, there may be days you are not in the office. Due to location you must be able to drive/have access to a car.
Following successful completion of AAT level 3, the opportunity to be made permanent will be offered with the option to study towards AAT level 4.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Apprentice
- Collection of daily post and distribution of invoices to appropriate staff members
- Assist Accounts Receivable Dept. in collecting outstanding payments
- Act as first point of contact for all incoming calls
- Perform ad-hoc duties as requested by your Line Manager
- Provide cover for colleagues as and when required
- Process, code and verify all invoices received into the business
- Carry out weekly payment runs and ensure timely payment to suppliers
- Perform reconciliation of supplier accounts/statements and chase up missing invoices
- Provide support with month-end procedures to enable prompt close of Purchase Ledger
- Carry out administrative duties on behalf of the department

- Computer literate – preferably in Microsoft Excel
