We are recruiting for an experienced Logistics professional to join an innovative and leading company based in Hoddesdon.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation that has experienced massive growth, both organically and by acquisition and is continuing to grow globally.
Reporting to the Site Director you will be responsible for managing the logistics, procurement and warehousing functions for the organisation’s joint largest site.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Manage the logistics, procurement, sourcing, supply and inventory strategy and activities
- Lead the implementation of group logistics, procurement and warehousing integration projects for the site, providing technical advice, co-ordinating with other sites and managing and communicating the roll out of changes
- Management of third party logistics and freight suppliers to ensure cost and performance are within expected operational parameters and budgets.
- Management and maintain inventory targets and min/max inventory levels, working closely with other departments to create forecast demand data and translate to accurate inventory supply chain models.
- Management of supply base, understanding key supply markets and negotiating price and contractual terms in line with company procedures
- Develop best practice model and plan for the site to deliver significant improvements in quality, cost and delivery
- Line management of three warehouse staff and one Logistics Co-ordinator
Required knowledge, experience and technical abilities:
- Previous experience or working within global logistics
- Good knowledge of import/export/customs procedures and paperwork
- Previous line management experience
- Experience of working with IFS, SAP or any other significant MRP systems
- Experience of supply chain and warehouse operations
- Excellent drive and enthusiasm to be “best in class”
- A team player who works well within a group
- Organised and methodical
- Ability to think and your feet
