We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified/part qualified accountant with a proven track record in all aspects of Local Government Finance who is available to start work immediately.

The role will involve offering support to the Financial Services Manager on a day to day basis, ensuring the budget setting, budget monitoring and year end accounts processes are managed within the timescales required. You will play a vital role in supporting the new Financial Services team which includes the strategic and transactional arms of the organisations finances.

Duties
•   Provide financial advice and guidance for a range of services throughout the organisation supporting key financial processes to facilitate the sound financial management of the organisation. This will require the post-holder to use professional skills and knowledge to proactively identify, investigate, analyse and evaluate issues and/or solutions within the financial management framework.

•    To ensure that processes and procedures are adhered to with respect to the financial administration of the organisation's affairs. This will include identifying opportunities to improve these processes and procedures on an ongoing basis.

•    Contribute to the development of a strong financial awareness culture across the organisation and lead the budget setting and budget monitoring processes.

To be considered for this role you will need to be CCAB qualified/part qualified and will have worked in a similar role, ideally in a public sector environment. You will have experience of the improvement of sound governance, financial controls and financial planning.
