Mosaic Accountancy Recruitment are currently working for a fantastic client of ours who are looking for a qualified Finance Manager, for an exciting new opportunity to join a small, welcoming and professional finance team.
The purpose of the role will be to provide a comprehensive accounting and management reporting service. To support the Finance and Credit control team to ensure strong financial and management reporting is provided across the company based on sound commercial insight and positive working relationships.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Take full responsibility for the accounting and management reporting for the business, and to support general administrative processes. To own the development of yourself, your team and to assist the General Manager in all aspects.
The overriding purpose of the role is provide and develop robust and insightful financial and operational performance information, processes and governance. The team must develop the reporting and analysis required to provide excellent decision support.
- Month end financial reporting according to group deadlines. Produce timely, accurate and reconciled financial and management reports that meet the legal requirements with clear commentary that reflects the state of the business.
- Preparation of relevant back up schedules for Cognos (Group Reporting) uploads.
- Assisting with internal and external audit.
- Responsible for maintaining the balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support business and financial planning, monitoring, management and reporting that meet the requirements of all stakeholders and clearly reflect the state of the individual business areas.
- Using the ERP and other systems to manage the relevant expenditure, stock, banking, pensions and other activities and monitor their effectiveness.
- Ongoing cost reporting and analysis. Ensuring all costs appropriately analysed and categorised consistently.
- Ensure revenue reporting is complete and accurate.
- Gross margin insight and analysis, and stock financial management.
- Ownership and clear understanding/reporting of all Fixed Assets accounting, including Plant, fixtures and fittings, vehicles, rental fleet, etc.
- Preparation of Quarterly VAT returns and other statutory returns as required. Liaison with HMRC on all tax matters.
- Management of banking arrangements and foreign currency requirements, and ensuring supplier payments made to due dates
- Manage and monitor all statutory reporting and payments by due dates
- Manage credit control team and function to ensure effective cash collection.
- Manage financial implications of leasehold properties, and other equipment.
- To support as appropriate all business improvements
- Ensure ownership and resolution of relevant problems and queries.
- Continuous improvement of systems and processes.
- Manage General administrative activities as required.
- Management and development of policies, systems, processes, governance and control procedures, and personnel involved.
- Review and improve internal controls, with ownership of the internal audit requirements.
Knowledge/Experience
- Ability to deal with the senior management team including the General Manager – Essential
- Good communication skills, excellent written and spoken English – Essential
- Computer literate with excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office Skills namely Excel (advanced), Word and PowerPoint – Essential
- Experience of a business environment with stakeholder involvement outside finance - Desirable
- ERP experience – Desirable
- Cognos or Hyperion Experience - Essential
- Have an open minded, logical and analytical approach to tasks and be able to review, adapt and develop existing procedures and processes.
- Experience of leading and developing people and teams through change.
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate in all forms to all levels of staff and be able to form excellent working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Qualifications/Skills
- Degree or similar level of education – Desirable
- Newly qualified to up to 1-3 year PQE with accounting qualification, CIMA/ACCA/ACA
- Eligibility to work in the UK – Essential
- Hold a full & valid driving license – Essential
