We have fantastic opportunity available for a Trainee Buyer with our client, who are a very successful and growing company based in Harlow.
Having recently moved to new, modern and spacious offices, they are looking to expand their team to accommodate recent and future growth.
The successful candidate will have excellent numerical skills along with the ability to manage their time effectively. You will need to be IT proficient and have outstanding communication skills.
You will be required learn and take part in the production of the company’s quarterly catalogue and promotional literature, as well as forecasting and placing of purchase orders for their stock requirements.
The starting salary is £23,000, rising to £25,000 upon successful completion of the probation period.
Full training will be given but a prior knowledge of buying or procurement would be an advantage.

Key duties for the Trainee Buyer;
- Working alongside one of the Buyers to help with the construction and maintenance of the price files from the suppliers as well as the negotiation of new agreements with future suppliers.
- Obtaining product details and pricing to allow the marketing team to construct a 700 page quarterly catalogue and all other printed promotional literature, as well as the content for the digital marketing department to use for the web site.
- You will be jointly responsible with one of the Buyers for one or more categories within our catalogue.
- To place, forecast and schedule purchase orders to ensure they have adequate stock levels.
- Proof read all publications
- Build strong relationships and communications with the suppliers.
- Checking of purchase orders raised by the Buyers against the supplier price files.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding order confirmations.
- Confirm deliveries with our suppliers.
Working hours;
7.45am - 5.00pm - Monday to Friday
