Our client is a family business which has grown exponentially to become a leading e-commerce food and drink supplier to the hospitality, wholesale and retail industries.
Due to continued expansion they are now looking to recruit a Sales Manager to help build and maintain a strong customer service and telesales team. This will include proactively generating new business opportunities as well as identifying areas to increase sales to their already significant existing customer base. This role will look to deliver the very best customer service to all web and account customers and work closely with the E-commerce and Marketing team to continue to provide an excellent customer journey and be the leading B2B E-commerce site in the UK.
This new and exciting opportunity will give the successful candidate a real career development as well as helping to shape and grow the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Identify opportunities, produce leads and book high quality appointments for the external sales force.
- Proactively manage and motivate the team to follow up generated leads with external sales team member or close the deal in-house.
- Set targets, KPI’s and develop a sales strategy to achieve organisational and individual goals
- Formulate sales policies and procedures
- Analyse data to identify sales opportunities
- Compile and analyse sales figures, creating reports for senior management
- Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support
- Work closely with the E-commerce Manager to integrate sales and digital marketing activities
- Be proactively involved in and support all promotional activity
- Attend sales and product development meetings
- Have a comprehensive product knowledge in line with training delivered
Personal requirements:
- Previous experience within a similar industry/managerial role
- Passionate about food
- Excellent customer service and team leadership skills
- Driven and dedicated to achieve organisational goals
- Highly motivated with the ability to motivate and manage others
- Analytical with good numeracy skills
- Excellent computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint; SAP would be an advantage
- Experience in delivering formal presentations effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Persuasive character with well-honed negotiation skills
- Ability to make decisions and work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills
