- Description
We are seeking a dynamic, ambitious and driven Business Development Manager/National Sales Executive to join an exciting and expanding international organisation whose product is currently sold within many of the UK’s top retailers. The successful candidate will have previous experience promoting and selling a product to large retail outlets. The role will involve developing and identifying business opportunities with both potential and active clients and building strong working relationships to maximise sales opportunities in line with the companies ambitious growth strategy.
Responsibilities
- Developing annual, quarterly and monthly business plans targeting growth with each account in line with the company sales budget
- Analysing each account with regular store visits and range analysis
- Analysing new retail business opportunities
- Undertaking continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends
- Feeling back to the company the key requirements for each retailer
- Developing and implementing a sales strategy/plan to introduce the company and product category for each retailer
- Obtaining orders and liaising with the Sales Admin team to effect prompt and accurate processing
- Nurturing relationships with key decision makers
- Communicating with all departments within the customer base to ensure a smooth supply chain
- Managing the customer selection critical path and end to end product delivery schedules
- Work closely with the company’s design and marketing department; ensuring that commercial objectives are supported by appropriate materials and presentations and the implementation of new product launches
- Achieving sales and revenue targets and growth in line with company expectations and budgets
- Drive KPI’s and performance improvement
- Effect a smooth transfer of account management to others within the team once accounts are established so there is always the capacity to develop new accounts
Person Specification
- Proven success in a B2B sales role
- Experience of selling branded consumer goods within department stores, supermarkets and discounters
- Excellent interpersonal skills – communication, customer orientated
- Self-motivated, creative, results orientated and tenacious
- Targeted-orientated
- Able to analyse information/data and make recommendations
- Ambitious, with the desire for personal development and potential progression to a more senior role
