This is an exciting opportunity for a Buyer with experience within the Electrical Wholesale market who is seeking a role where they can become an integral member of the Purchasing team and work towards goals and targets. The company offer will offer a competitive salary and bonus scheme.
This role will suit a candidate who is a self-motivated, a skilled negotiator and deal maker who is confident utilising systems to analyse and advise on buying decisions. They are also likely to have a number of years’ experience within the electrical wholesale industry. Excellent IT skills are required to analyse and extract the right information to assist the decision making process.
The Buyers responsibility will include:
Strategic buying
- Proactive buyer
- Finding alternative sources of supply for key products
- Negotiating deals including trading terms, settlement discounts and rebates
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers
- Ordering and procuring bespoke items as instructed by sales
- Negotiating on an International level including terms, credit arrangements and quality of components
Routine Purchasing
- Stock buying - maintain the correct stock levels of items
- Being able to manage a stock budget figure so that overheads are controlled but customers are offered a high level of service
- Determining the correct stock levels depending on movement history and predicted sales
- Day to day items sourced and purchased as required
- Specials, bespoke and one off purchasing
Reporting
- Month end reports and system closure
- Raise quality issues with management and escalate to client as and when necessary
- Present stock control reports to management
- Working closely with the Accounts team to resolve any invoice related queries
Systems
- Able to work with, understand, adapt and use systems to provide the necessary information to allow the role to work to maximum benefit to the business
- Manage the supplier section of the computer system
- Updating supplier database with latest supplier pricing and any price adjustments incorporated
Management
- The Purchasing team consists of two people – Buyer and an assistant who the successful candidate will manage
- Manage the workload across the team
- Ensure the team covers the necessary work when annual leave is taken
- Cover for sickness and other absence to ensure there is minimum impact on the rest of the team
